Welcome to my blog.
I’m writing out of a faith that the world could be better. By building on what is already happening, we can, if we want to, create a sustainable world of equality, inclusion, personal freedom, and cooperation. This blog is about how I think that can happen and how you can take part.
Now a little about me. I was born in the United States in 1950 and have been a socialist all my adult life. By profession, I’m an attorney, and I have long-time interests in history, archaeology, and a little photography. Pretty boring, actually.
But this blog isn’t about me. It’s about us and what we can do.
Where does the name “kincaid” come from? My nom de guerre is taken from the first recorded Irish rebel, Cairbre Cinn Cait. According to the story, he was a leader of the pre-Gaelic population of Ireland, and one day he invited the Gaelic aristocracy to a great feast. As soon as he had them thoroughly plastered, his followers came out of the bushes and … there was no more Gaelic aristocracy. (I never said it was a nice story.)
Oh, and I am aware that the Scottish name “Kincaid” does not come from the Irish rebel — stop e-mailing me.
